Journey is a Christian church connected with the South Carolina United Methodist Church. You may find out more about the United Methodist Church at www.umcsc.org. We mix a modern style with some of the traditional practices of the Christian church. We are committed to making disciples. Our core values focus on our being Invested, Inviting, and Involved.
Through baptism we are joined with the church and with Christians everywhere. Baptism is a symbol of new life and a sign of God’s love and forgiveness of our sins. Persons of any age can be baptized. At Journey, we baptize by sprinkling, immersion, or pouring. A person receives the sacrament of baptism only once in his or her life.
Spiritual disciplines are basic Christian practices designed to help us live out the commandment given to us by the Lord. “You shall love the lord with all your heart with all your soul and with all your mind. You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” (Matthew 22:36-38) Spiritual disciplines are both acts of devotion (to God) and acts of mercy (to your neighbor). Acts of devotion include worship, prayer (private and family), Holy Communion, Bible Study, fasting or abstinence. Acts of mercy include caring for the poor, caring for our neighbors, visiting jails/prisons, welcoming all, seeking justice and acting for the common good.
Servant leadership is persons who feel called to go above and beyond by leading others to Christ as described in Acts 6. It honors people who give sacrificially of their time, talent, and treasure to the ministry of the church. In addition, practicing spiritual disciplines are a regular part of their daily journey with God.

We stand on Malachi 3:10, Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this, says the Lord Almighty, and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it.
